Caring With Passion
Driven by her passion for patient care, Megha finds deep fulfillment in her role as The Oncology Nurse. More than just providing medical expertise, she champions the safety and well-being of her patients, earning their trust and appreciation.
Megha and her family have a first-hand experience as family members of someone who went through cancer. Cancer treatments and its side-effects are rough on the patients. But, Megha also understands the effect that the treatment has on the patients' family members, from emotional to logistical! Because of this understanding, Megha makes it a point to also address the families' well-being.
Megha Shah was awarded the DAISY Award in recognition of her efforts for the betterment of patients. She is also the recipient of 20+ nominations.
For more information, see the CURE Magazine feature article about Megha's impact on her patients.
DAISY Nomination Letter
"During a self-examination, I discovered a lump in my right breast, and it stopped me in my tracks. I previously had undergone yearly scans and ultrasounds which revealed nothing of significance, with the latest being December 2020. Soon I was officially diagnosed with breast cancer. Megha not only manifests the traits and knowledge required in her profession, but she does so with an abundance of heart and kindness. Simply stated, she is amazing. She has taught me volumes about compassion and vulnerability. She is dedicated to helping cancer patients who are receiving chemotherapy. She takes great pride in her work, and she is exceptional. She has a way of understanding what patients are going through. She has lifted me up so many times I have lost count. I will never know how to properly thank her for being part of the team that saved my life. I can honestly say that I am grateful that through this horrible disease Megha has come into my life. I do not know what I would have done without her. It is impossible to describe how a person I did not know from the beginning of treatment could become so important to me. Megha deserves to be honored as a DAISY Nurse because she IS extraordinary, and I am so blessed that she is my nurse."

What Megha's Patients & Their Families Say

A wife and caregiver describes the oncology nurse who helped her husband until he died from cancer and made an impact on his whole support system.
"My husband passed away during the start of the COVID-19 pandemic. He was so connected to our nurse, Megha Shah, B.S.N., RN, OCN, that he wanted to FaceTime and see her once more. His last words to her were, “I love you, Megha.” This just shows how much love, compassion and expertise she gave our family including me as a caregiver.
"Our friends and family are forever grateful for her excellent care. My husband always went to chemo with an inspirational shirt to support his fight. We set up a memorial in support of their bond: scottsgift.company.site. Money raised from this site will benefit the Delnor Cancer Center in Geneva, Illinois. He wanted to show his gratitude to Megha for her great care.
Megha definitely deserves this award for her care of my husband, myself and our entire support group.
